I am a new rider, but I have come accustomed to riding on with the balls of my feet on the pegs, rather having the center/heel on the peg.

I'm just wondering what are the pros/cons are and what is "technically" correct.

Cheers!

For street riding, I ride straight across the balls of my feet, with my foot fully inboard and on the peg. I think just about everyone will agree that is the safest spot for your foot whether we are riding in the dirt or on the street.

For track days and moving around on the bike as we enter and exit a corner, things change a little. That's definitely a "Riding 501" class.

Hmm i ride on the balls of my feet when i get into the fun rides but i cover brake and clutch in town/every day riding.

Feet on balls. Google it. Just not while kids are in the room or you'll have a lot of explaining to do.

Using the balls of your feet makes it easier to grip the tank with your knees. One of the many reasons you should be on the balls of your feet.

oh9 man you have been doing it all wrong left foot on hand control left hand on the shifter lol:D;)

I generally keep both feet flat on the ground while riding. Or I suspend them in the air at approximately 45 degree angles to the handlebars. You get a nice breeze blowing up the pants. Does wonders for long rides.
