which handlebars?

Ok.. the stock bars are too low.. and way too narrow. XB12SS

I have 1" risers on them now and it is not enough. I used to have an XT and loved the bars on that. What is the size of the stock bars? What do you guys recommend for replacement? Looking to go more than 1" higher than stock.. and at LEAST a couple inches wider.

Anyone have Uly bars on their lightning?

if you get anything taller than 1" over stock or even wider bars you are gonna have to get new cables[smirk]

what if I keep the 1" rise and just go wider? there maybe enough slack...

who makes a stock equivalent bar but just wider?

Renthals are about the same rise and slightly wider and less of a pull back angle (elbows further out). I have the streetfighters on mine and like them. Cant say how they'd be with a riser though...

Do you have the part numbers? I'm assuming it is a throttle, clutch, brake and electrical cables??

You would need the two throttle cables and the brake hose, that's it. Just order the cables from the bike whose bars you are running. So, you can run XT bars on a Lightning, just order XT cables, too.
