If you do could you post your pictures, especially if you are running an aftermarket exhaust, that would be great.

I don't know when I'll get to my exhaust on my bike becuase my top two options I like are both really expensive and/or not being made at this moment (QD and Drummer CF).

After looking closely at the QD headers and that every picture is on a Lightning without a chin spoiler it got me thinking if you could even run it with that exhaust. I emailed Trojan Horse about it and this was the response:

"Thank you for your enquiry. The QD exhaust doesn't have chin spoiler mounts I'm afraid, but is so nice looking you won't want to cover it up anyway. :)"

I absolutely LOVE the look of this exhaust

and would love to put it on the XB, but I love the chin spoiler on the bike too. (Its just enough to keep the naked look but give you some sort of fairing at the bottom) I'm just trying to get an idea of what the XBRs look like without it. If I don't like it too much I'll probably just wait on the Drummer to start being made again.

You could always make brackets... I'm sure you might even be able to use the jardine brackets to mount the fairing as they don't mount to the exhaust

Well here are some pics from their website and and this one has the chin fairing on still.

My biggest concern from the beginning was more about the how the headers come down to the exhaust. It looked like it was a little wider than stock and didn't know if the fairing would even fit around it...

I don't know maybe it is just the pictures playing tricks on my eyes. I just don't want to spend that kind of money and then not like the look of the bike if I can't run the chin fairing. I mean it is a sexy exhaust so if I couldn't I would probably just deal with it enjoy the exhaust because I doubt anyone would buy it off me at that price...just doing the homework before I pull the trigger on something that pricey.

Any other input about the Jardine brackets or any other ideas or pics would be great!

you may want to ask them if it is compatable w/ US spec. buells. the header is different on the euro buells. you can tell the euro header in the first pic. you posted. it curves way up. also at 1500.00 british pounds that equals out to be about $2200.00 usd. OUCH!!

that header looks bad ass... prolly keep your knee feelin like a flame compromised marshmellow

if the header did get in the way you can make a cut out in the fairing pretty easy

I didn't know there was a difference in the euro models... I don't see the difference though. Both look like they lead to the same spot to me and I just looked at a pic of mine it looks like they both go to the same spot.

The price with the current currency rates is just shy of $2k. I know it is steep but I want something else no one has and I want a full exhaust and this one is just plain seXXXy! I probably wouldn't get it until this winter or early next spring. I want to get the Buell paid off first (getting ready to drop $2200-$2500 on it next week from my tax refund) and I have stuff I want to get done on my CBR as it is my main bike I commute on and ride every day.

And I've thought about the heat from the header too. If it got too bad I could always get them ceramic coated to keep the heat down. It would be a shame to ceramic coat over the beautiful titanium though.

The QD system is first I've seen with a cross-over connecting the two exhaust pipes.
Are there others?
(expensive! :( )

Here is another reply to Trojan about the difference in the headers.

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your enquiry. The European and US stock header pipes are definitely different, but that won't matter if you are changing the complete system to something such as the QD pipes. Stock Euro headers from 2008 onwards are smaller diameter and have a different muffler entry size and angle, so can't be used with pre 08 mufflers either :(

Aftermarket full systems such as QD and Free Spirits etc will fit both US and Euro models no problem and have 'full size' header pipes :)

Any pics if anybody runs their XBR without the chin fairing would be great.

That doesn't look too bad. Especially if I had all that beautiful titanium underneath of her.

Do you have one from the other side and taken lower? That is the side I was most concerned about because you can see the oil pan/filter and lines and doesn't seem to look quite as nice as this side with the fairing off.

Thanks for that one though. Helps give me a little bit of perspective on it if I do get this exhaust and run it without it. Especially since that is my bike color too! :)

It wont fit, those side by side down tubes are much wider and will never fit in the cut out for the single tube collector of the stocker.

to be about $2200.00 usd. OUCH!!

Titanium ain't cheap to say the least. I'm surprised to see some of these titanium exhaust prices this so cheap for how much titanium is used.

Or just make a new chin spoiler to suit.

And I've thought about the heat from the header too.  If it got too bad I could always get them ceramic coated to keep the heat down.  It would be a shame to ceramic coat over the beautiful titanium though.

It's not THAT high, so I wouldn't worry. It would be a waste of money to buy titanium then cover it up.
