That is also good to know. Ooo man I can't wait. I'm definitely getting one this weekend. One of these. Both are in my state also! Sort of leaning towards the 09 because it's cheaper.

Just FYI, getting oil on a K&N filter isn't an issue(the filter actually requires oiling...)

not as much as mine had on it. plus, filter condition oil is clean - crank case not so much

totally different kinds of oil anyway
 
If not done, its just a matter of time before the throttle body and butterfly valve sludge up and cause you to have to dig deeper than it takes to do this cheap and easy mod.

Get the 09

[up] The 8-pot front caliper alone is worth it, albeit offset by the Jardine. I will admit I'm partial to Cherry Bomb Scg's. I find quadruple black stealth ninja bikes to be (yawn) boring.

While the breather Reroute is a nice and looks GOOD done correctly sometimes it doesn't help the Low End Stumbling with the V-Twin we are riding.
It will help at times with the PCV- or Positive Crankcase Ventalation OR so it will seem.
The Reason the Stumble occurs,is due to the Engines Crankshaft. The Engines some days will seem to run like a hot rod pictured Above in Superbird Fashion. Hmmm Boy!
Then some days the potatoe potatoe Idling and low 1st gear stumbing will almost make you mad.
It's just the nature of the Design,(our Mule Buells) of a V-Twin still using a push rod Engine. If the HD research and Development team had let Erik Have his way , WE would riding around on OHV and 4/valves per Cylinder, with mesh gearing , AND a Whole Different Transmission. Cranking out somewhere between 128 Stock Horsepower. And Chain Drive!ANYHOO, here we are,cause Harley was Cheap!
Erik did the best possible for what he was allowed.
Still though Like the Buells Erik Did work out. Breather Reoute works but not all the time then just Feather the Clutch in 1st Gear. Still Though one of the Easiest bikes for Stunts around. Ride Safely.*Jimi :D[cool]

Way old thread I know but does/did anyone notice a much stronger fume smell in their garage after doing the mod? I'm trying to figure out if it's the mod or something else. After I get home from a ride n park in the garage it will reek for a long while of fumes.

Is it possible to be running too rich and have the excess gas not getting burned and maybe stinking up the exhaust can?
 
smell like gas? I believe it's the fuel vent. My wife tries to make me park outside for 30 minutes before rolling it in to the garage because of the fuel smell. But, I like the smell of fuel, so often forget ;)
 
I did in 2 of bikes and I did not notice any difference, Well, let's wait for a qualified expert answer. I will nice to what is really behind this mod.

I'm my opinion looks ugly have extra air filter and hoses out of the factory design. :)
