My Blast :)

I dont hate them, but I have always looked at the as either a kids bike, chick bike, moped, or learners bike.

I know they are zippy, but they are lacking in so many places and what they cost to what I can buy a xb9 or xb12 for just seems like a waste, IMO

I don't usually see too many negative things said about them here. You'll always have people picking on bikes smaller than theirs, whether it's people with 1000cc bikes picking on 600s, people on 600s picking on 500s, or just about anyone making fun of 250s. You even have people on Honda's making fun of people with suzukis, people with suzukis making fun of yamahas, and people with yamaha's making fun of kawasaki, not to mention people with all 4 of them making fun of people with any kind of Buell. People with any kind of modifications that are anything but bolt on exhausts and other standard things will draw in some comments, which I'm sure you get plenty of with your tail.

In general I don't really think it's much to do with people not liking blasts, that's just kinda how some of the motorcycle community is. People on this site are definitely better than average but it'll happen anywhere.

You'll get some great comments when you buy a bigger buell or a ducati, but don't expect that to stop the heckling. You're gonna hear oil leak jokes about both of those brands until you die.

One of my first bikes was a ninja 250 and I loved it, so you won't hear any complaints about a blast from me. I still ride my wife's GS500 on occasion and it definitely has it's strong points, even if HP isn't one of them. To be fair that's not really a strong point of my xb9 either though.

I look at ANY bike this way whether it's a ricer or a Blast as long as your on two-wheels doing what you love who cares what the hell you ride well maybe cept a scooter lol

just no one be knockin my ricer that i ride to work everyday! the crf 50 gets awsome mileage and is fun for my 3/4 o a mile drive haha

the only thing that counts is what you can do with it.dosnt matter if its a 250 or a 1400.

Dam it i have a scooter love the hell out of it its a 50cc liquid cooled model that i modded to 65mph next mod is a 70cc kit and 105mph

Nothing wrong with a B-last. I have seen one with luggage touring before. If a model with sporty intentions were made I bet it would if been more popular that the standard model. Something with a clip-on's and better suspension....

if I was a smaller guy I would track bike one, I have heard of many a blast passing 1k inlines on the dragon.

500cc single? sounds kinda like a sumo to me :D
add that to the Buell innovation?
WINNER!

Nice to hear so much support!!
Guess it's the same as the car world .. v8 drivers hatin' on tuners, tuners hatin' v8s, drifters hatin' hondas, hondas hatin' drifters, etc etc.... never ends!

Btw, I love my bike as a beginner!!

Nothing wrong with a Blast, for $800-$1000 bucks with low mileage they are fine. They have a crappy clutch and tranny, but my XB is only 50% better in those areas. My 916 Ducati, which I had before my XB 984R and my current Triumph 675 are way may sophisticated, but I have a love for the Blast and love my XB!
