Why is it so difficult to order parts from Harley?

Chicago Harley is 20% off retail, and I have ordered from them 3 times, all exceptional experiences. You do have to know the part number though.
American Sport Bike is also a favorite.

i dont know about you guy but i love my harley dealer. if i need somthin i call and they order it no credit card no b.s to deal with i usually get with in a couple days to a week. plus they know me there pretty well lol soon as they hear i need a part for a buell, there like pete? is that you lol.

I have to give some love to Monterey HD. The accordian boot around my clutch cable burned thru--they said bring the bike in they'll replace the clutch cable w/boot under warranty. they have the part and are just waiting for me to roll on in. A month before that they replaced the routing of my brake line per a recall no problemo. Monterey HD is batting 1000 nice guys, no attitude, helpful.--3 hours away from me but worth it. CA Bay Area riders--I think its worth the trip.

my boot is burned up also, the cables got some burn/melt going on also. I called one of my local dealerships and they said there was a recall about it, mine was not included and would not be covered. said cost would be $80.00 or so. I do however have the headlight recall to be done, i'll have to research that a little first.

I had to order a few odd's and end's (found out the p.o. lost a couple bolts on my bike for the airbox cover and undertail bolt.) they seemed to be pretty cool about ordering things. ( after checking there website i think 4/5 of the service members ride buells, only one rides a hd)

I didn't know there was a headlight recall. did you know there was a brake line recall? (they just relocate it to the outside of the fork).

ya, recall or not, it shouldn't burn up that accordian boot within the 2 year warranty period. That's why we have a warranty.

Matt, I'm finding the same thing out about Monterey HD and Faultline.--dudes there actually ride Buells and it makes all the difference. Service is great.

you know the crazy thing is--HD bikes (some not all) are actually pretty damn cool for what they're built to do. To the dealers who dis Buell owners I totally don't get it...I mean, c'mon! our bikes are powered by a HD engine. Treat me well and I just might actually buy a HD one day, you never know.
