So lately iv notcied more often that if I dont give my bike a second after the Vtwin light goes off, its like it only half heartidly wants to start. It does a kinda chug-chugging, and I can hear it turning over, just not with fevor. And it will start, and then get up to a normal idle. But If I give it a couple seconds it does everything normal. I dont recall this happening at all my first season.

Also, will my header wrap ever stop smelling? I hate getting wierd smells from my bike always worries the **** outta me.

[confused]

could you explain a bit more, cause i'm not following.

also, your header wrap normally only on 1st startup and a bit during first rides.

OK. So I always wait for the VTwin light to turn off before I try to start up. And that usually goes off a couple seconds after the you hear the fuel pump stop pressurizing. But If I try to start up right after the light goes off, its like the turn over is fine but the bike just doesn't want to fire. It will start running, but weak at first, then its starts running strong. I was kinda thinking along the same lines as Urban Assault about the Fuell Pressure. Because it all kinda revolves around the timeing after the Fuel Pump stops. I mean if I sit and wait 5 seconds after the light goes off, all is fine. But I shouldn't have to wait that long, I want my bike to run like its sposed too.

Think maybe it could be the plugs? Im still running stock HD's. I'v been wanting to upgrade to NGK's but replacing plugs on these beasts is a bitch.
Or like Urban said, pump pressure?

Arg! Frustrating!

download the manual and there's a step by step for testing the fuel pressure.

if it's pressure, new plugs won't help...your fuel needs to be vapor before it can ignite decently.
