Up front, what about fitting front fender/fork/brake/wheel from a big dirt bike?
Sticky tires desire more suspension travel :)

For serious of road riding, spokes still rule. 2K for custom wheels is more than reasonable.

For now going to give the new Scorpion Trails a try and see how they work. Doing a two day dirt ride the first weekend in May. Should give me a good idea if I can stick with those or need to do the wheels to fit TKC 80s.

wire wheels with perimeter front rotor, believe the company that makes them is Italian...

Well I ended up spending 2200 on an 01 XR650L instead of the wheels. The pic of the Uly above still appears to have the same size tires, just wire wheels. I looks great, but the only reason I was considering was to make mounting TKC's easier.

I'm not a fan of how the stock wheels look, but I'm not sure spokes are right either. Definitely different though. For offroad riding I would definitely want a steel wheel, they bend but you can bend them back. Cast will just brake and then you are boned.

NOOOO!!! Not the spokes!jkjk The amber wheels are about 25% the reason y I bought the bike. But hey, its yours, u do what u love, (I wont knock)

glad you came to your senses.. the rear would have been easy but the front you would of had to go with a completely different front end. the rotor set up just wouldn't work or you would of had to get a custom size rotor and relocate your caliper. besides a uly is more of a gravel road bike you'll end up putting a hole in the muffler if you really trail it over any rocks.

I would rather have the stock wheels..Because they are strong enough for riding off road and they are tubeless..You can repair a tubeless tire easy.
