Okay ya'll, giving some advanced warning for my next disappearing act.

I will be gone starting either the end of July/ early August.

I will be gone anywhere from 6-8 months.

I will try to drop a line now and then to let ya'll know how I'm doing.

I will be deployed to Afghanistan.

I am being as specific as I may, OPSEC is a top priority for all soldiers, even when we're just surfing the web.

Hey Fido maybe we will see each other over there I'll be going in October at the latest. If it's not opsec tell me where in Afghanistan you will be. I'll be in the biggest base in the south flying in those big helo with 2 rotors.

don't worry about OPSEC this and that. I told people where I was when was in the mist of the war if Fallujah, Iraq.

Once you hit the ground the bad guys know you are there anyway.

Good luck and depending on your job dodge the bullets or paper what ever you may be pushin.

Thank you all, I will be dodging bullets and IED's not paperwork. I'm a Cavalry Scout, equivalent to the Marine's Reconnaissance. I don't know exactly where I'll be yet. I won't be getting any riding in until the first week of May at the earliest. I have to wait until May 1 to submit my motorcycle packet so they can 'allow' me to ride.

Only 2 months of riding? That sucks! At least you're not leaving right away! Are you happy or mad about this deployment?

Kind of mixed, finally getting a deployment in, but at the same time. It's a deployment, away from my family, and away from anything even remotely entertaining..

Sucks that I only get two months of riding in, I'm trying to get my wife to let me get a chopped tail, and some alternative turn signals (front and back). Those two mods plus an ECMSpy cable is all I want before I deploy. Well, for the bike at least.
