It has two additional air ducts for more aggressive air intake.
I believe this part is designed for Race Use (Track) only and can not be used on street since not approved by factory for that. Perhaps remapping of the ECM and Race Exhaust Muffler also is not very street legal... Just maybe not many cops know about that
So if you want to know the correct answer for your question you'd better go to your local road traffic authority and ask them if you could use a Race Part on your street bike

Definitely looks like it was from the xbrr. I'd love to see one on a firebolt. You would just have to do a little handwork to your fairing by making a cutout for the air to get through and find a way to attach it properly.

I can't imagine a reason you couldn't use it. Old zx7rs, and some other bikes(cagiva raptor? can't remember) have run their intakes over the handlebars and straight through the gas tank. I think you should do it.

Just think how many MORE looks someone would get if that was on their "street legal" bike. As far as legalitys......why wouldnt it be legal? All it would be doing is changing the way the bike receives air.....and it looks bad ass......too bad its not in a yellow carbon fiber or tinted yellow........Mmmmmm yellow carbon fiber. Mabiee we could get CJ to make us a variation of this in fiberglass........[up][smirk] I tell yall what.....everyone make a monitairy donation to me and when i get enough i will buy this peice and test it on the street to see if it is sutiable for real world use.

No donations yet, but thats ok.....I have a feeling I would have returned all the money anyways....lol. While it looks cool and all it also looks like a fair amount of work would be involved with moving or deleating the insrument cluster, and thats not somthing i wanna do on my "street" bike. On the track I can see only needing a tach........but on the road I like the idea of having a speedo incase I get stopped for "Enjoying" my ride too much....lol. Plus I dont think the cop/judge would like me telling them I removed a vital peice of equipment on my bike just so I could put in this rally awsome looking air intake cover.

I could see this playing out plain as day in my head. Plus I couldnt bare myself to tell the wife I need to spend anouther $300 on a part for te bike she already hates. I think I would end up with a foot to the nuts before i even finished talking.

In fact I think the Firebolt is pretty much nice in stock. This particular Carbonfiber Airbox Cover with long and massive Airducts serves mostly for functional purpose - Airflow optimisation not for the aesthetic one (nice look). However tastes differ.

So buying this you'll get more "tasks" than gains.

Anyway this is only my point of view. I also respect the others.
