I have my 07 all setup for me and really like it...but a offer might come up for a trade for a 08 1125r....im a Harley guy which is why I like the 12r....but I wouldn't mind having the newer engine. it seems like firebolts are easier to come by than 1125's.....so I could score a firebolt again if I miss it!........ive never ridden the newer one so im not sure if im making the right choice. oh i do ride aggressive if i can! lol........probably a bad thing!

also I feel abit cramped on the firebolt even with 1 inch lowered pegs...is the 1125 roomier?

The 1125 is an awesome bike but you have to be willing to live with its quirks and fix em as they come. As for more stretched I think they are very similar in fact they use the same tail plastics. I have a lightning and a 1125 and can't see myself parting with either now.

Completely different animals. I sometimes miss my xb. But I love my 1125 just as much if not more. The helicon behaves similarly to the xb but keeps pulling until redline. I have a lot of long winded posts comparing and contrasting the two. Do some digging if you're seriously considering. I will say though, I have noticed xb prices slowly rising over the last year. In my area anyways.

I'm 6'2 and have noticed a substantial difference in room on my 1125. Better motor. Solid fukin bike. If you like to be a little crazy and go fast. This bike will be there for you. I trust this bike to go anywhere at the drop of a dime. Clutch weep, 09 stator failure and fork seals( if po wheeled) would be a couple of known issues that can all be resolved easily. Valve adjustment was a little overwhelming( because of access issues) at first but once I started tearing the bike down to rotate motor it went away and I felt right at home wrenching away. These bikes are pure evil and I love it. The sound, power and feel are great.

Yes, 1125 has slightly larger frame and peg set up than XB models so it's more roomier, I'd compare it more to the uly space wise.

1125 is more of a liter bike or gixxer 750 where the XB being similar to a 500 or some of older 600 import bikes.

1125 is wicked quick, long as you know that front wheel is coming up you'll be ok.

The ergos are nearly identical, the 1125 does not have more room.

I like my xb12r more then I liked my 1125r. but that could be because I had the 1125r down in Tampa fl, and it sucks ass to ride a bike there, as compared to having my xb12r here in south AL where traffic is alot better.
