Hey guys,

I hate being the new guy who knows virtually nothing, but am tyring to help my brother out. He has a 2003 Buell Blast that has the whole front end wrecked. He hit a curb in the middle of the night and the rim, fork, plastic, and light are all busted up. The rest of the bike looks pretty good believe it or not. The handle bars look striaght, controls look good, and frame doesn't appear damaged. What I am looking for is where can I get parts to basically rebuild the front end and is it even worth it? Are there any special tools that I will need specific to Buells? I am by no means an expert mechanic, but am no fool eiteher and can work through most problems, but again is it even worth it? I just spent $400 bucks to get it out of the impound lot and really don't want to sink a ton more into it but at least want to consider my options.

Sorry, I know this is extremely generic but am just looking for some high level thoughts. I will try to post pictures later and maybe that will help.

Thanks,
JC

Obviously I am a rookie if I can't even spell Buell right in the heading. I'll use spell check next time ;)

pinwall cycles on ebay has lots of blast parts...Buellsterparts.com is another great source for new and used parts, surdyke.com, LSHD1.com, and newcastleharleydavidson.com have the best prices online for new parts, Buellparts.net can be reach from the link below the forum header

basic tools will get you by, a couple of torque wrenches, one inch pound and the other foot pound... I'd highly recommend to have, although some prefer using German torque "goodntight" you can get away with on certain things, good luck and welcome to the forum
