I wrecked my 2009 xb9! The throttle lock bit me in the ass. I just put it on and i guess i forgot about it. A car was stopping ahead i started down shifting and braking bike wasnt slowing down. The car was getting closer at 60 or 70mph so i pulled in the clutch and gave it all the brake it had laid it down the bike hit the car. I slid past the car it sucks i made such a stupid mistake after riding all this time but i guess it happens. The worst part of it is i was supposed to be leaving to head to North Carolina to ride the dragon and all the other amazing roads. I didnt get to banged up my hip hurts and some road rash the bike may have not faired to well but we will see.

Bummer, sorry to hear (ermm read). I've always been weary (SP?) of those throttle locks. The attachable palm throttle seemed like a better idea to save the wrist on long rides without LOCKING your throttle open.

Dude, hope you and your bike are ok!

For anyone interested in a throttle lock [confused] make sure you get one that can be adjusted! set it loose. i would rather reach up and twist the throttle because it is slowly backing down then attempt to slow down and not be able to. if you set it loose enough, a simple bump will put you back to an idle. just my opinion.

it's mostly always some stupid thing that makes us all meet the tarmac.
but atleast you're still here talking about it...

gl with the rebuild!
