Hello everyone. So this is not the way i wanted to join this forum. I was excited to find this forum with all the tutorials and mods on Buells and had planned to join and post about my future bike upgrades. But I find myself joining for a different reason....two months ago I found my dream bike here in Montana, a 2006 Xb12Ss Lightening. Since its still winter here I was unable to ride. Luckily I had a trip planned to CA in a few weeks and decided to take the Buell along for the ride. Got to CA, put on new tires and tuned it up and went for 100 mile ride (one of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden). I got to go on two more short rides before having to load back up and head home. On the way home I hit some ice and rolled my truck...with my Buell in the back[sad]. But luckily I am seemingly unharmed, although sore. My truck, bike and jet ski were not so lucky. So I'm wondering if anyone has any parts they are wanting to sell or get rid of to help me piece my girl back together. Here are some photos of before and after.

Get a comprehensive list of what you need and keep checking the for sale ads here, these guys are as fair as they get.

thanks for all the good wishes! I will get a parts list together. My insurance company said i can go where ever i want to get a quote, most everywhere doesn't want anything to do with a buell. Harley will work on it, but I am not sure about it. Any recommendations on a good shop in the north west?

The bike is in the same boat as every thing else..... Toast, but if you really want to rebuild her I have the complete tail section seat pan, seat, rails and tail including a Trojan rear cowl. Not sure what else you will need but keep me in mind.

Thanks I will keep you in mind. I think I will need all those things. Are the seat and rails from an s or ss? I would be happy with either one just curious. I am hoping to get enough money from insurance to fix it, I will probably buy it back even if I don't. The body shop actually thinks that they can fix the truck without a total loss, I was surprised.

As everyone else has mentioned, glad that you are ok! But that sure is a rough way to start out. Also, as mentioned, get a detailed list together and keep an eye out. Folks on here are fair and will help if/however they can.

So far I am waiting on Harley's repair estimate for the insurance, and to see what the buy back price is. As soon as I get the bike back I will put a part list together, so far it looks like

Gauge pod
headlight assembly
handle bars
all hand controls
left foot controls (shift lever and linkage)
seat rails, seat, pan, cheese grater
turn signals
rear fender
belt covers
air box cover, black with gold buell lettering
an ss frame with a clean title would be great but I think i can fix the old one.

I am sure I am missing something, I will update when I get the bike back.

Let me know about the headlight assembly.
Have one and give it for cheap if you don't mind cleaning my mess a little. Put in blue led strips (halo kind of thing) but didn't like it. Running a single headlight now and no longer need the original. Have a thread somewhere that shows the headlight. Can throw in turn signals

I have decided to rebuild the bike. I have the seat rails, seat, pan and battery tray on the way, thanks to johnon. As far as I can tell this is what I am still looking for:

Gauge pod
headlight assembly
handle bars
throttle control and right hand switch box
left hand switch box
left foot controls (shift lever and linkage)
turn signals (would consider aftermarket)
rear fender
belt covers
air box cover
windshield
