I am looking to buy a xb12Scg, specifically hero blue. I just sold my xb9sx for 2 reasons, not enough power and too high. So I want faster and lower. I am looking at ALL xb12 models, but don't really want red. I have a 2002 748s with red wheels already. Yes, it bothers me having 2 bikes with red wheels. ;) Good xb12s seem hard to find, and I would ultimately like a 09-10 (black cases). I know another guy here is also looking, I'm in NJ, am willing to travel, and have cash. So please keep me informed of any bikes that come up. Thank you all for the help!!

And just so I'm clear, the Scg is the lowest correct? It has a 28.6" seat height? Where my xb9 had 30.1"? What other models have the lower seat height and/or can be lowered? Thanks!!

I have 09 SCG in MD also, will be fairly priced. Hopefully next week or 2. Will look like the SX though with hand guards & bars

The XB12cg will definitely give you the lower seat height you're looking for, and in terms of power, it'll also definitely pull harder than your previous 9, but it won't really be that much faster.

You'll be about 1/2 sec quicker over the 1/4 mile on a 12, but if the 9 doesn't deliver enough power for you, it probably won't be long before you also tire of the 12.

Maybe it's an 1125 you're looking for? :D

I gotta be honest, I can't stand the nose fairing on the 1125. I love the lightning, and the 12 will be perfect. Plus you can mod the 12 better than the 9. I have a 748s for race bike speed, I'm looking for more comfortable power. ;)

So "the bike" I'm looking for popped up on eBay today, in MD. I'm negotiating now. Only one "minor" issue, he said the speedo broke and he had it replaced. But the dealer didn't have the tool to reflash the mileage back onto the new one. Anyone had problems with their speedos? Is it even possible to reflash the mileage? Is it stored in the computer? He has the old one that shows 2,9XX on it, but of course it's something I'm a bit concerned about. Any help/answers/info is GREATLY appriciated right now as I am VERY serious about a blue 12 (as you know). Thanks in advance!!!

I saw this one and found it very odd to see the picture of dash opened up. I'd question the actual mileage but the motors are bullet proof so all you have to worry about is other high mileage parts, trans, bearings, wheel bearings and belt. Seals. But I'm sure it's fine so go for it.

Thank you all for your help with links to bikes FS, and whomever I've chatted with on this forum. Still looking for the "right" bike. Almost every bike has some "minor issue" or a story. Looking for a lower mileage bike, with no issues, either bone stock, or correctly modded already. At this point color isn't that important. I've had a few leads that fell through, AND some bikes that are just overpriced. I don't want your jacket/helmet/bags, I want the bike. So thanks again, in advance, for all your help guys!! I have cash IN HAND, and am VERY motivated to buy soon.

I couldn't agree more about people trying to add their gear to a sale. No one wants to pay an extra $500 for gear you sweat in, even if it was "only worn a few times"
