Hey guys! Just ran the bike about a week ago, and curious as to what these are supposed to run? All I have is a D&D slip-on and a Banke shifter. Best was a 12.7 or 12.8 at 106mph. Not sure if this is about right for one of these. The elevation in Idaho is about 3800ft. and it was in the high 90's. Thanks for any input.

I've never run my buell on one... But I have with my 954... Wouldn't be much of a comparison there...

I ran mine last week and you are getting a better time than I am. Best time is a 13.6 with a reaction time of about 0.06 seconds and all I have is a vance and hines pipe, no race tuning nothing. I run in Colorado at an elevation of about 4500 so your time seems to be pretty good, at least compared to mine.

Here at sea level at the Samoa Drag Strip, I was running 12.6-13.0 with a Vance and Hines and a race tune. That was about 3 years ago. Today we went down and my dad ran the bike (which now has a D&D slip on) and was running 13.0 seconds, but he couldn't keep the front end down on the passes that I saw. We are both complete novices. I imagine a good rider could get it down to the low 12's.

Ran mine last night. 12.04 & 12.12. Both around 110mph. Street tire, V&H slipon ,race ecm. 1250 kit and se 536 cams. Pulls like crazy but wheelies are the issue. Got a 11.97 at the start of the season with cooler air. Could probably get a better time with some gearing changes but its my daily rider.

Im shooting for 11.9/12.0 after ignition/dyno tune and intake. What kind of times did you run before all this motor work? Sounds like a sick setup amigo.

FlatheadBill, Did you modify the thunderstorm heads any while it was apart? Assume you converted to beehive springs for the .536 cams. Sounds strong!

Ya. I luv this bike. Ran fairly strong before. 12.6-12.9 range depending on the length of the wheelie. Bike runs and feels much stronger on the street. As for the heads, just better stock style springs to work with the cams and a fresh valve grind. Was going to opt for the NRHS stage 2 head , but funding ran short.

When my 2001 X1 was stock I ran between 11.9 and 12.1 at my home track in Phoenix. Now it has a 8" stretch, air shifter, shift light, two step, pipe, race ECM and lowered. In Sonoma a couple weeks ago I ran a best 11.35. I just bought wheelie bars to help with the consistency. Hoping to get in the low 11s in Phoenix too. Can't wait to do some head work and cams.
