Apologies in advance if this has been covered. I did some searching for an answer but wasn't convinced the X1 top tree would work on my '03 Firebolt. Anybody done it? or know for sure if it will work? I want an extra top for a couple longer cruises I have planned. It may sound dumb to some but I like the idea of farting around in the garage and having the ability to switch back and forth, but I don't want to be forced to buy that German kit for $450. Thanks!

Dont think the X1 works or been done, most switch to the XB lightning stuff t9 achieve what i believe you are attempting to do.

I just put a lightning top triple tree from the matching years on my firebolt. Used the renthal ultra low bars and I love it
Grizz, thanks for the reply! I'm aware the XB Lightning triple clamp works. I found a parted out X1 and could have scored a pretty good deal on the top tree from that. They both used Showa forks but the width must be different. It seems, though, that owners of parts XB lightnings think the clamps are made of gold ;)

I got lucky and found mine on ebay from a totaled bike. I know what you mean. I wanna do a lightning rear end swap but everyone that has them wants an arm and a leg for just the subframe
