So, I've been working on and riding(when it runs) my 2k buell x1 for a while now. I finally got around to getting a new speed sensor last weekend and while i was messing with it decided to wrap the headers. As i was tracing the wires for the speed sensor I got ahead of myself and started to disconnect the battery pos side first. A no-no, but I was excited. I arced out on the rear jug. I continued putting the sensor in and wrapping the header, kind of worried maybe something got fried. got it all done, tried to start her up, and no spark. I read and read, came up with the cam pasition sensor/plate. Traded off a brand new rear hugger for a used sensor. Just put it in tonight and no change, so i tested the old one(after cutting the wires i could do that), its fine. Theres something going on between the sensor and the coil. Well, while testing the old(original) sensor, I spliced in 3in jumpers with scotchlocks and wirenuts. the scotchlock on the hot wire came loose and grounded out on the drive pulley. I cant even get it to turn over now. Hooked up the ecmspy and it wont read at all. Does anyone know, what the hell I did to it?? I'm getting really frustrated.

Did you check all the fuses? If all of the fuses are good, and you have no burned wires you may have blown the ecu...

checked them twice. havent seen any burned wires. even the wire that ground out wasnt burned. i'm bummed. but, i guess i'll rip into it in earnest tomorrow after work. sucks.

Did anyone know the plugs for the cam timing plate and the speed sensor are the same? bike runs now. lol
