XB Series Oil Dispstick/Thermometer

Can anyone confirm that the "3 prong" dipstick from an 04 will fit my 05 that has the "straight grip"...I dont know how else to word it

I'd like to know whether anyone who actually has a thermometer dipstick has ever read a high temperature and then gotten off the bike and waited for it to cool down. Just doesn't seem very likely.

Probably not. If the XB fans & oil cooler are operating properly, it's unlikely the bike will overheat.

What I really like about an oil temperature gauge is knowing when the oil has gotten up to operating temperature (which can take substantial time in a dry-sump motor) so that I can start applying some revs with peace of mind...
