Thx dudes :) I was playing with my new camera and am very happy with the results [up]

ah...i always wanted to see pics from those. thats a lot of pixels on a C-sensor.

its awesome how thin it is.

im using a 5Dii, battery pack and all L-lenses, my cam bag is like damn 30lbs. lol

this ones with the 5d2 and a 16-35mm f/2.8L

darned internet compression doesnt do it justice though....probably the same with your cam

@ gbalias: nice! that almost looks like an HDR shot :) I am slowly getting to learn the full manual controls... the NEX controls are awesome! What were the ISO and shutter speed settings for the above shot?

@ wavex.....i dont do HDR....actually, im totally against it and the 'fad' that has come with the whole thing. lol

ill get you the specs when i get home and check my exif data.

i DID however use an off camera flash that i triggered via RF remote. having good light changes everything in a photo.

here are some more with off cam flashes ive shot (also, gel'ing the flash helps for colors to pop):

i gel'd the flash to match teh color of the sunset at that time (iirc about 3300K)

you get the idea. i dont photoshop em, if its a jpg shot, ill adjust a lil the contrast, if its RAW then ill work on the histogram

that profile shot was taken @16mm (true on the full frame) ISO100, f/4.5, 1/60s, 16-35mm f/2.8L lens, flash is camera right at about 2 oclock and low

it was a good overcast so theres really no hard shadows, thats why. had the sky been blue, it would have been hard to get that effect. the flash helps to bring the contours of the frame out.

vs this one in harsh daylight (prior to frame pucks and belt guard removal)
