As the title says, will the XB12 race muffler work on the XB9? I know the 12's have an exhaust valve and the 9's don't but that shouldn't matter should it? I read that the header pipes are different sizes but the mounts and collector size are the same. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,
Spencer

if they connect to the stock header they are interchangeable. The collectors are the same size.

Back pressure is a crock of shit. You don't want to restrict the bang as it escapes. But you don't want the pipe too big because exhaust needs to be hot since cold air is dense air. And dense air is heavy. Which in turn force your pistons to work harder to push exhaust gas out. Sorry to jack your thread.

It the race muffler for the 12 has bigger pipes and stuff that they put inside the muffler and it's too big for the 9. I mean do a simple search and you'll find that the xb fa Tory race muffler is completely different between the 12 and the 9.

Here check it out: google search results

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they are the same. They didn't make a different version for the 9 and the 12.
Your "simple search" also didn't pull up anything that supported your claim.

Thanks guys, that's what I needed to know. Not gonna comment on the physics of the exhaust systems battle lol [up]

No need to search for another thread.

Here's a picture of two race exhausts. Top one was brand new and came with a race kit which included an ECM for an XB9, bottom one was taken off of an XB12. I inspected both of them very carefully and they were the same.

Wait, did DualSport just flip flop? [confused]

If so, please note that sarcasm doesn't translate well when typed out...
