Well..this was a long time coming.

I had an issue with some slippage last year, so I upgraded the clutch. 3rd gear wouldn't fully engage and I have to pull the motor out to have the front cylinder welded (don't ask) and might as well do the long anticipated tranny rebuild. I don't know exactly what the issue is but I'm trying to get a parts list together. I'd like to be proactive and go through the bottom end and replace things while I'm in there. Top end was just done. Throw in your input so I don't miss something while its apart. Its my first Buell bottom end rebuild. I'm very mechanically inclined and we have a shop and racing team here, so feel free to get technical.

I'm thinking:
Shift Forks
Dogs
Crank Bearing
Flame stickers to make it go faster
Possible p&p
All new gaskets

I have good crank and trans parts (forks, dogs, gears)

I'd guess it's a shift drum but I don't have one of those. Mine was messed up too

you may want to get the snap rings/clips for the shafts, if you use the wrong tool removing them, they will not snap into place on the rebuild. ask me how I know:D

What year is the bike? How many miles? That will determine what I would recommend but here are some basics:

The shift forks are always a good item to replace.

The dogs are part of the gears on the 03-05 trans. The newer 06-10 trans have some separate dog rings and others are part of the gears.

Again, if it's an 03-05, the shift drum is aluminum and wear is common for those. The 06-10 trans have a steel drum that is more durable.

Oops. I forgot to include the details. Its a 2006 XB12 with 55,000 miles. Primary chain, cable, rails, and clutch were all done in the last 8k.

UMD: I may grab those parts off of you. I'll message you tomorrow.

THRST: Snap rings..been there. Im still undergoing therapy.
