Sometimes I think Buell bought their nuts and bolts from the flea market or a dollar store. They corrode easily, especially here in Florida. I have replaced or polished/clearcoated plenty of the bolts on my '09 12R. The two bolts that hold the fairing to the frame are looking "funky"(one even looks like its got a ground wire to it). I want to remove them(and clean them up) but they look like they may be long enough to hit the fork tube before they come out. Am I correct here or just "over thinking this"? Thanks in advance(be easy, I am over 60 and have lots of stupid old guy questions).

the 2 long allen bolts that hold the fairing stay (fairing mount that holds the gauge cluster on). You can get away with removing the front fairing plastic( mirrors and signals and lower 2 windscreen bolts also) and turn the forks to remove them. And yes they mostly are hd made allen bolts....haha

Thanks guys for the help, now I won't have to drink as much beer to figure it out!!
