not to mention the cooling fins on those heads. Damn
actually, the airbox and tubes are strictly for ram air intake and sealed from the engine.
Quote:
The XBRR style airbox cover is basically zero loss on an 1125R. Drag racer Mike lost 1HP on the dyno by taking it off on back to back dyno pulls.
This is on his drag bike (stock engine) run without a filter, and a modified 1125 base plate to get it sealed up for ram air down the track.
We have a few XBRR carbon fiber airbox covers in stock, but can order more if the interest is there.
A baseplate to make this a fabrication free process is on the list of drag racing "kits" to complete, but at the moment all hands are on deck working on the RS.
Hit me up on [email protected] for more detail.
I don't read where it says that. That sounds like they customized it with an 1125 throttle body. not the rr stock stuff.
from hereThe velocity stacks are mounted in a small airbox connected to the carbon hoses. The injectors are
located as near as possible to the intake valves.
just doesn't make any sense to me, i live in fort worth texas, where it does get pretty hot, i dont always ride in teh blistering heat, but sometimes i do.
to cover up the engine and headers, and then get stuck at a stoplight, or barely moving traffic............just, not something ill do to my bike.....but thats just me.
