XB12R Mirrors - Can they come apart?

I want to take the mirrors (glass part) out of the housings to do some mods. Does anyone know how or if they come out? There is a small breather hole in the bottom of the mirror housing that I can use a small dowel to push on the back of the glass but I'm afraid to break it by pushing too hard if it's not the way the glass comes out.

I just scored a LH and RH mirror NIB for a 1125 that has the built in turn signals. $110 shipped on fleabay. I'll post pics when I get them on. I know they won't adjust well because of the difference in the two fairings but I'll try to modify something to get them to function properly.
