Hi
I am wondering what year firebolts (obviously besides 2006) will fit to replace a voltage regulator in my '06 Firebolt XB12R?
Thanks In Advance.

03-09 should all be interchangeable the later models have a plug fix that might be an issues for the early xb's but it is suggested to update the plug anyway

oh and you can get them at buellster parts for around 40 after shipping

Wow...that was an insanely fast response to my first post. thank you. Left the battery in the bike over the winter and I heard that doing so might damage the voltage regulator so I was thinking of replacing it. Any comment? True/False? I am selling her and I want to make sure she is 100% ready to go before I do.

I really don't see leaving the battery in hurting the voltage regulator only possibly killing the battery itself. I would make sure the battery is good start it up and check the voltage while running as long as the voltage is good I wouldn't worry about it unless you are having another issue...

How should I properly test the voltage and what numbers should I be seeing?
The procedure is in the Service manuals that can be downloaded on here and it explains it much better than I could.

[up] Yeah there are kinda alot of steps to wade through to get a good diagnosis. Don't get me wrong its pretty easy to do but its several processes.

But I would start with checking draw and just voltage while running at the battery

Good battery 12-12.5 volts
battery with engine running should be 13-13.8 volts roughly
Simple hook a volt meter to battery check voltage
start bike
does it make atleast 1 more volt?
if yes bike is charging
if no likely needs a regulator (send me a pm i have a used one i sell for less than Buellster

Still having real nasty weather here, so I have not had the chance yet, but hear the end of the week should be nice...cant wait!!
