Most of my riding is done at about 75 to 80 per hour at about 4500 RPM I am getting about 130 miles a tank or there abouts. I have a 09 12ss

After my mods (mainly open airbox and new spark plugs the good kind) i went from 55mpg to 40mpg. Blows.

I'm with Raz.
On highway trips I got a good 5mpg better running 65-70 than running 75-80. Thoufgh my best mpg never got to the spec'd 65mpg. Best was about 55mpg cruising (not knee dragging) back road twisties up to 55mph.
But then I'm a fat bass turd. Someone weighing 130 pounds less than me will get even better mileage. :D

2006 SS and I get 39-42mpg and that is beating on it. On the other hand it does need to be tuned, it has some junked up map on it.
I admire those of you getting high 40's and 50's.

From reading these posts, it seems to me that, for the most part, the older xb12's get better mpg than the newer ones(07 and up). I owned a 2004 xb12r and a 2006 xbs and they both got 55 mpg pretty much no matter how I rode it. My 2009 xb12scg gets, at the very best, 44- 48 mpg and it seems to run hotter than the others All stock.
My 07 xb cityx gets 55-60mpg

My 07 STT gets 42 overall with 120 rwhp (air box mods, open air box cover, race ecm and jardine ti exhaust).
