I am off to pick up my new (to me) bike in a week. Depending on which way I head, I have at minimum, a 6 hour drive on the bike. If I head the other way, a 22 hour drive. I know, quite a difference!!! I wont bore you with the details.......

Any who, just curious as to what my butt can expect on my ride to temp storage or to home. Is the stock STT seat good, ok, or crap? Thanks!!!

Send me a pm, you can come have a seat on my bike...I have the stock TT seat on my Ss, and a custom touring seat by Baldwin seats. I'm over in summerlin though, other side of town from you...

Wow, that's surprising to hear...I really like my TT seat (the solo seat). Find it quite comfy and use it pretty much anytime I'm riding solo.

I wear gel padded bike shorts under my jeans. Work for me. The discomfort I have is not from the seat per se but from a broken tail bone.

I prefer long rides on my stt solo seat over my stock 09 ss any day. I'm 6'1 260 and it just fits better.

Ditto Walls...hated the stock Ss seat, hot spots and pain after fairly short rides. It has been transformed into an awesome touring seat by Loren at Baldwin seats now though...perfect for long rides!

I agree with WALLS, I'm 6'6" 240lbs and the only time I ride with my Ss seat is if I have the wife on the back. Otherwise I rock the SST seat all the time. Very comfy for my taller frame.

Fish - Yep, I ride with the TT solo seat when I'm by myself, the touring for when I'm 2up or going on a loooong ride.

Spent 3 hrs. This am with the wife on the SS ,great ride . Got home took the STT out and it was so much better (comfort wise). The 09 SS seat is just to low , makes me feel like I'm scrunched down . The TT is just the right height . The perfect big guy buell .

Here is the one I use on my bike, just bought bike this summer, but I don't think its a stock STT seat, maybe a touring seat? Anyone recognize that style?

I don't think I could do the touring seat. It is 1" lower than stock Ss seat and about 2" lower than the TT. My knees like the extra inch I get from the TT seat over the stock Ss seat. I'd consider a Touring if it was substantially more comfortable, by a margin that over comes the knee thing.

I hear ya on the cramped knee space. For that reason, I bought some aftermarket pegs that lower/drop the pegs another inch, plus some bar riser spacers that raise the bars another inch. Every little inch counts eh! Don't have photos of those yet, but could get some posted...
