Keep an eye on that speed sensor. It may be as simple as a frayed wire rubbing on the motor case. Luckily it’s under the plastic belt cover retained by 3 T-27 screws. I saw a video recently of someone with a cooked sensor that was shorting out and had smoke pouring out of it. Hopefully the sensor didn’t cook any of the ECM or dash circuitry.
It’s an easy check and I’d hate to see bigger problems come to light that could have been resolved with some electrical tape
