xb12x translucent a thing of the past?

Hey guys I'm looking to buy some translucent covers, for my air box and flyscreen. I just recently painted my bike, my girl friend was trying to be helpful one day and i was at work and it snowed outside, she went to push my bike inside and slipped, and my bike got all scratched up. She's ok thankfully. But now my paint is all messed up. I put alot of work and hours in the paint as I had issued with bleed thru. So I'm looking for translucent covers. Is there anywhere that still has them new? I'm looking on old sites but looks like most places are out of business. I would settle for new ones even as long as there of my color. I was hoping for red

board member bob ferree from york, PA. has like new cherry bomb red and orange air box covers and i believe fly screens as well. don't recall his screen name on here but post a "shout out" for him and i'm sure he'll see it. was at his place the other week to buy some parts and saw his inventory. his transluscents were beautiful.

All of the xb intake covers will fit the uly. As far as the uly flyscreen goes they only made the translucents in valencia orange (part # M1601.4AKMCH) and hero blue (part # M1601.4AKMBX).
I do have a used cherry bomb ( translucent red) intake cover that I'm looking to part with, but that would be it for now.

Surdyke had them in stock the last time I checked into it. Thatwas about a year ago though. If you do get some new ones I would be interested in your scratched up painted set. If you decide to part with them.

I know for a fact they did make cherry bomb red translucent fly screens, I've seen them in person. They had several sets of different colors at the factory in 2010 when I was there. Not saying they were released for general sale, but they did make them and I made the mistake of not buying them. They had full sets of red, blue, orange and smoke (ash) for both lightnings and firebolts. Boxes of the stuff that they unloaded back then. I only had an 1125 at the time and didn't think far enough ahead.

surdyke does have the cherry bomb red fly screen it says. My question is, since i have a K&N filter, how do I do the mod where it will show thru the cover? What do I need to buy, and is there any gain to performance? I was reading somewhere and it said it actually makes you loose power. Anybody?

American sport bike has the top plate for the air box delete I believe. Not sure on power loss or gain. I have heard it makes the intake noise quite a bit louder.

So since I got the ebr pre-programmed ecm I don't need to have my exhaust control box hooked up right? I can remove it and it won't throw codes?

I know on my EBR ecm it said it would not throw a code. '08 is bit different from '07, but im thinking they likely programmed all of them in that way. It should be in your paper work for the ECM if you can find it...

Thats what I remember as well but wasn't sure if that was a extra feature or not they offered where I had to specify.

Remove it. It cancels the interactive exhaust controller

Just email ebr to check for sure. I'm almost certain it read something like, exhaust valve actuator is active, but will not cause dtc's if it is not connected.

What was the part number for the cherry bomb translucent uly fly screen btw? I've never seen one. surdyke is a pain to navigate without part numbers or exact descriptions...

I saw the cherry bomb red ones on the internet all over "fly screens". So they are out there. I dunno but i think i will get one they are around 69.00

I think they only made the Hero Blue and Valencia screen for the Uly.
