Is there a special trick for replacing the rotor on the front of an xb9. took mine off to polish the wheel and now it just doesn't fit correctly. Acts like it has a high spot...almost like it's warped.

make sure you have it on right, there is a little punch mark on it that should go where the valve stem is , or close to it. make sure the bushings are in right.

Lined up the mark, made sure everything was where it should be. Wondering now if the rotor is warped.

got it...newbie mistake. I didn't have the square bolts that sit on the rotor inserts aligned properly. it pays to read the manaul

If you have more problems with the front rotor, go on the EBR website and order the new hardware from them. Also, its worth it to buy the new EBR front rotor ( I think its $340 ). I actually met Erik Buell and talked to him about that horrible front brakes we have on these XB's. He said they invested hours upon hours figuring out a fix for this. That new rotor and hardware kit allows heat to dissipate into the wheel, and not stay in the rotor. Its worth the money, and you get a better braking system. Its not drilled, only slotted and finned.

I'm buying mine next week.

Wow! That rotor doubled in price! I bought one from EBR four months ago ( give or take) it was half that price. Looks like the same one?

lunaticfringe - he actually started that entire topic when he asked me how my front brakes were. Hes a cool guy with tons of information he doesn't mind talking to people about.

Nicholas900 - He talked about that rotor being only $170 when I talked to him and said that its probably way too low, he's probably losing money on the deal. I should have jumped on it earlier... He said "I'm a great engineer, but a terrible businessman".

Im telling you guys if you have the chance to go to an AMA race, he will be with his bikes right after, and wont be shy to talk. Just ride your bike up to their spot and park it near the 1190RS/RX he always has there.
