Hi there, I am new to this but have read quiet a few boards and found that you guys really have some great advice to offer and I felt that i should take advantage of this before buying my first buell.
I am absolutly in love with the XB, my only question is how much of a difference in power and handling are there between the 984 and the 1203?
And my next question is if there is any one crazy enough to be selling a xb that would be interested in a partial trade for a new snowmobile. thx.
Sincerly,
"soon to be buell owner" Ian.

welcome!

you would be surprised at how much difference 219cc of displacement makes..

you wont be disappointed either way.

k one thing i forgot to mention is that I am 5'9 and 175lb, and this will be my first bike. Well first bike I can legally drive on the streets. :) ne ways, i appreciatte the comments!

All I can say is that I have both in the garage and every time I take the wifes 9 for a ride I come back feeling that I'm damn glad I got the 12:D. FYI I'm more or less the same size as you.

unless you have enough experiance on a bike:

get 12 and don't do any engine mods for atleast a year...you'll be a happy man!

if you have enough cash, buy a 9, sell it after a year and see what buell comes up with in 2009...
if the new edition doesn't say that much to you, you can always buy a 2008 12.

I have both. Both are a blast. Both have different manorism's. My advice is to you the best choice is your choice after to have ridden both. If you have your license then go test ride both and make the choice then. Only you'll know which your gonna be happy.

Well, that really puts a twist in my theory. Hear I thought that I would be way better off buying the smaller 9 because of its "lesser" power and my begginer riding level, but now that you all mention it I do usually find myself regretting not getting the bigger model of whatever I'd boughten in the past. I guess i was just worried about killing myself right off the hope.
I also heard some where that the nines handle a bit easier, is this true? and in what way?
I would love to go and test drive them both and see for myself but I cannot legally get my license back for two more months and I'm trying to make a trade in for my sled at just the perfect time. :(
I am writing from up in Cannada and was wondering if someone could give me a ball park cost for a xb9 or 12? (in american $)

Thanks soo much for your imput it is greatly appreciated. Happy riding!
