Hey guys I'm new here. I'm looking at a 03 XB9R. The guy started it up and it was shaking pretty bad, more than normal, I think... It was actuall moving about an inch forward and back(the whole bike). Most of the turn signal lenses are broke/ taped together because it shakes so bad. Is this normal? Also once it warmed up a little bit, I could hear a faint ticking. Not sure what that was... I just want to know if these are anything to worry about. The bike has 17,000 mi on it. Thanks everyone in advance!

no, that the beefed up harley motor doing it's work. as for the taped up parts, that probably someone being cheap from dropping it maybe.

Thats good to know. I was going to go get it this weekend but it is supposed to rain. Wouldn't the frame/tank get messed up if it was dropped? There aren't any scratches on it or anything... Thanks

welome: as for the xb9, it does the following;

-shakes excessivley at idle,1050-1100 rpms
-it will fall if not balanced :D
-at 60mph, smooth as butter
-sounds like a sewing machine until it reaches operating temp
-motor is mounted to the frame; as is the shock absorber
-everyone chops the rear signals & plate frame
-swingarm is attached to frame & shock, lota vibration
-03 xb9's had a sidestand recall, bc of failure
-03 made before nov 7, 2002 have free wheel bearing upgrade kits

and much more all around the forum [up]
