Hey guys I have a 04 xb9r that has a k&n filter with some airbox mods and bike runs great but at various rpms it sounds like its knockin thru the intake but doesn't at idle or cruising. Any ideas or is it normal? And the exhaust is stock with stock ecm.

May need to see and hear that one. What type of Air Box Mods? Did it just start doing this? The sounds at times can get loud when you Alter the air box depends on whats been done. Are you AT Hard Throttle when it knocks? post up so someone can help you get in the right direction.*Jimi

From what you are describing it is a normal sound you're hearing.

BUT, post a video if you can, or a sound clip. Those will help a lot.

I was just noticing a rattle on mine today. I think it has been around for awhile but I can't be sure. It is a very high pitched rattle kinda like some keys are flapping in the wind (not, it's not my keys flapping in the wind). It happens between 30-50mph and 2000-3500 RPM usually.

Sounds like it is down low on the right side, but could be from the airbox/throttle body area.

Is yours similar to mine?

Everything looks good and tight down there. It is a custom muffler, so the brackets that go out to the chin fairing are custom welded. One of them has broken loose and fell off while riding (I heard it and picked it up) so now there is only one bar going from the muffler to the chin fairing. Maybe I need to finally get around to epoxying that one back on (I can't weld) or take it to a welder?

The remaining strut did appear to still be firmly welded to the muffler, and all the torx screws were in nice and tight. Muffler is locked in well.
