Anybody have any experience with an xb9s starter other than the $335 OEM one? I was looking on Ebay and found one for $134 from rare electrical. I would really like to save money if I can. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the info! My ignition switch went out and was sending continuous power to the starter and fried it. The dealership wants to buy the starter for $335 and an ignition switch for $135 + labor. Just trying to find cheaper alternatives If I can to save some money

do you have the part numbers? my three top places to get parts from, buy and install it yourself, you'll need gaskets as well for the primary cover and the starter

surdyke.com
newcastlehd.com
LSHD1.com

check buellsterparts.com or pinwall cycles on ebay for the ignition with keys, or the three from the list provided

Thanks for the websites and price checks on ignitions! I don't have the part numbers for either parts, which seems crucial to order from either of these sites. Do you guys happen to have them? I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help me. Doing the maintenance my self is out of the question as there is an underlying electrical issue that I am ill equipped to handle myself. I'm looking at $850 in parts and labor just to get the bike in operational condition so they can continue their search for the problem so I'd like to save money anywhere I can.

I just recently bought one from rare electrical. It's brand new. Updated. It's not the crinkle coat finish. I haven't installed it. I wrecked my bike 2 days after I ordered it. But. I seems legit.

Awesome, thanks for the response. I guess I'll try it out. They have a 1 year limited warranty and its 1/3 the price of the dealer. I'll let you guys know if it works out or becomes a nightmare haha. I'd still like the parts numbers or a parts number catalog if anyone has one for future reference. Thanks!
