2700-3500 if the right buyer comes along.

Edit: I'm on my phone are those graphics on your frame? Any downfalls to the bike? Leaky forks?

Honest opinion is... I've seen the bike in Fresno for sale for the last year, year and a half.
So I would not buy it but.....I could see $3000 tops
2003's are like the bastard redheaded step child of the xb's unless they have super clean, low miles bike they just are not worth that much.
But you already know that.....also
The race kit came on almost 80% of all 2003 xb's because so many people were complaining about them being under powered. So they offered the race kit or Buell gear as incentives when they sold them new.

80% of 2003 XB's have a factory race kit??? How would I know if mine has it or not???

The buell race muffler and race ECM would be good hints

Smart ass!!! I figured as much, and just my luck, I bought one of the 20% without the factory race kit....

hmmmm, my '03 has the Pro-series exhaust and race ecm, she had 2500 miles on her when I bought it, paid $5500... so with what I've quoted above is true, then why is it I've only had very minor issues with it compared to everyone that's Mod this Mod that...the only Mods I've done have been cosmetic, never mind that the original belt is still on and she now has 55k+ miles...it doesn't matter what year your bike is, it's how you take care of it and ride it. Not saying Mods are bad, there comes a point when something will give sooner or later on all of our bikes. If you stay on top of the maintenance on anything, you'll extend it's life...neglect it and you'll pay dearly one way or the other, my two cents worth:p

keep your bike and convert it to an R...I'm looking at doing that, already have a fairing stay and mirrors on the way, there is a triple clamp on ebay for $80 buy it now deal, also pin wall cycles, also ebay has a front fairing for $50, I have a parts list if you'd like of what you'll need, cost between $600-$700 to do the conversion...if you did the conversion, would you also change from a Lightning to Bolt rear end, if so it will cost more for the conversion, would be cheaper if you asked on the forum to swap your S for R rear ends. you would get answered almost immediately after posting since the S rear end is highly sought after for R riders.

Noooo I would definitely keep the S tail. I would not change to the R tail. My buddy wrecked his poor xb9r and I'm trying to get it off his hands cheap and would build it if the price were right.

understood, you could get 3 to 3.5 grand for your bike, depends if the buyer is willing to pay. how bad is the damage to your buddy's bike, what year?
