Hi folks, this will be my first post so be gentle.

I recently got my hands on a xb9sx with xb9sl forks (just the forks not the back shock) and I am wondering what I should expect.
I have not yet ridden it due to a few technical difficulties that will soon be ironed out so i am a bit anxious about what will happen.
Any opinions, predictions and suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

I would expect quickened steering, possibly very twitchy feeling by raising the rear (3/4 to 1") that much. I'd try to find a sl (low) shock to match the front or swap the front out for the standard length tubes.

I think I have the opposite setup. I have an 03 XB9S that has the yellow spring in the back and what appears to be non-SL front suspension. Should I expect different kind of behavior? May be interested in swapping front ends if it benefits the handling of both our bikes! :)

I have it on my R, if you haven't ridden a lot you won't notice anything different. You are supposed to keep them same when raising or lowering but you should be ok to ride it like it is. May get twitchy around 80-100mph...

Sadly I live in Africa so i doubt we could swap lol.
Any ideas where i could get the dimensions SL rear spring im sure i could have one made locally if it comes to that.

That's a terrible trade anyway. Low suspension is pretty rare. Who ever gets normal height is getting the shaft! Unless they want it, then it's win win. :)

"Chop an inch off the normal blue spring lol" I may be in Africa sir but that does not mean i am a savage lol.
I am a hefty fellow so hopefully i will just squash that extra inch down with the help of gravity.

^ :D hahah I like that, I think you will be fine. It's not like your going to crash cause it's off 1/2". I would use the shock tool to soften the rear spring, so the lowest point of adjustment on rear shock (all the way left when sitting on seat) that will give it room to compress a little more.
