XB9SX Oil Pump Gears Shredded at 20 000km

Just wondering why I have to pay out 27 000 ZAR for an engine that is completely ruined due to the fact...!

I guess that why they now sell a "Performance" Oil Pump Gear!?

They are a known week point at high revs. What year model is your bike? 06 and up had the bronze gear. 2 yeah unlimited warranty usually covered this, but if your a light user you might be out of luck. Sucks but problems like that happen with all brands. Honda for example had a batch of cbr1000 bike that came out with the wrong size pistons causing very bad oil consumption. sometimes as high as 1 litre per 1000 klms. You have been unlucky.
