You think you have some nice back roads?

I am lucky to live within striking distance of the coast, mountains, forests, rivers and some of the most beautiful scenery in the states. Not to mention decently maintained roads connecting them all. Sure it rains a lot here but when it drys out the roads are clean and everything is green. Since I moved here I have found some seriously fun back roads. Banked turns, elevation changes, switch backs, yellow signs with squiggly arrows and small numbers, long sections with no driveways or cross roads, and they all end somewhere worth going... even though its more about the ride than the destination for me.

Why am I rambling about how awesome the riding spots are here? Well... I stumbled across this and realized there has to be great roads everywhere. Figured you guys could appreciate this. Some of these roads look like they should have a start/finish line.

Here in Oregon we have amazing back country road everywhere. Everything is green and trees hang over the road Love our mountains and the ride along the coast is amazing!

I am in Oregon too. We should ride sometime. I have a few favorites. Maybe some you haven't discovered yet. For a short ride in the evening after work I either hit Skyline to Scappoose or run around Bull Mountain. There are much better roads but those are 5 mins from my house. Ever taken 224 to Detroit Lake?

I've driven this one on that list in Chile (it's the chilean side of the border between Argentina/Chile just below Portillo ski resort)

The road is awesome. But, since there are only like 3 roads across the Andes between the two countries, you're likely to be stuck behind a bus or big truck

Heck yeah, we live right off Scenic 7 in Northern Arkansas, we have some awesome roads to ride.

One thing I love about my job. I get to live in places close to many of those roads. A lot of the European roads are within riding distance. Think I'll go ride those and post the pics.
