Hello My name is Gerard and i am from Australia,

I have an 1125r with the mod done to the air filter (K & N) and the Jardine Rt5 slip on exhaust. The place i bought the bike from tuned the Computer system to suit. it has been fine up until now.

when im riding along or taking off at the lights i have a major flat spot in the throttle. i need to move the throttle 1/4 to half a turn before the bike does anything and once the bike registers that ive opened it up the bike will gain all its power which is quite dangerous.

i have taken the bike back to the dealer for them to turn around and say that they cannot do anything and it cant be fixed due to the fact that i have an aftermarket exhaust on the bike! then they say all sensors are ok and that its a tuning issue which they cannot fix.

i know on this site people have exhausts done and air filters what could be the problem with the bike?

If anyone can help that would be much appreciated!

Thankyou,

Gerard

i agree. sounds like it could do a tps reset if you havn't done that already, they should have done it when they did the exhaust. i'd do it before you go moving the throttle itself.

To reset the throttle i need to move it fully open then closed 3 times? is that with the ignition switched on?

i read something about resetting the sensor but dont really know how?

Gerard,

I am having the same problems with my bike, I have had it back to the dealers three times!!!Its being reflashed that many times, had that many checks its driving me nuts..
I have had all sorts of advice but most have suggested the TPS reset which has happened this week (I pick up the bike today) and installing a EBR race ECM, which I'm fitting today hopefully that corrects it otherwise I'll be offloading my buell, its too friggin dangerous as it is. Incidently I'm in oz as well I'll keep you posted

Hey guys, after installing my RT5 slip-on, I started getting a check eng light and the error code: "F-R AF SYS ERR". It turns out that when I changed the exhaust and, therefore, changed the exhaust geometry, it messed with the air/fuel configuration in the ecm. After some research, Jardine said the problem could be resolved using their Pro-Tune 3 Fuel Programming card for the 1125R. I have yet to purchase it and try it though.

Yes when i take of from a complete stop, and when sitting on a set speed limit, when trying to go faster it hits a dead spot aswel.

i have had an email saying that i can download a fuel map for the Buells ECM which i can load from the home computer. and this fuel map is designed for the exhaust and the air box. i am still yet to get more information about it. but it could be worth a shot.

What year model is it?
Have you got the active intake solenoid disabled?
Checked throttle cables for adjustment?
Check the TPS on the IC in diag mode it should be 2% closed throttle 100% full throttle if not do the TPS reset.
While in Diag mode check for trouble codes
PM me if you have any ?s

Ausxb,

-Its a 2008 Model
-I haven't touched anything on the bike as its still under warranty so i woudnt know about about the solenoid!
- The throttle cables have been adjusted and tightened on the service
- Im still needing to try and do the TPS reset. also how do i get the diag screen on the bike?

Thank you

Hold the toggle and mode switch down at the same time and turn the ignition key on. Diag mode is on and u can use the toggle button to scroll through the info.

I would take the seat, and air box cover off and cut the cable to the active intake solenoid. Or at least unplug it and ride it to see if that's the cause.

Makaley0405,

Thats good to hear that you have had the problem sorted! im going through the process bit by bit to sort mine out!

Not really sure about the remedy, apparently a tube in the throttle body was adjusted but Im not sure. I did try and fit an ebr ecm but that made it worse, I'm going to refit tomorrow and run the bike for a while before taking it out again
