Hey guys,so I have to get my motor pulled on my xb12s to fix a stud but I want to try and make the best of it. If I'm taking the motor out I want to wake her up a little more. Right now I have a K&N, Race exhaust, and a race ECM. I was looking into porting the heads, higher comp pistons (XB9?), cams, or maybe a bit of a bore. I'm just looking for some input right now and what kind of gains I could possibly see. If anyone knows a good shop for this to get done in the Calgary/Red Deer area that would be very helpful too.

I agree with captain choas, & NRHS has the stuff and the best knowledge & experience on buells' & big bore kits & engine work . they would be my choice probably to.

revperformance has lots of cylinder heads, pistons & performance kits, & more.
zippersperformance has big bore bore kits.

How much money are you willing to spend is the biggest question?

But in general - I'd have to agree with the above - head porting, and then all the rest is within the motor. Just a question of how far you want take it. There's a guy that has had pretty good luck lightening the rotor for the alternator and taking other wait of the rotating mass. Doc something or other...
