04 to 06 airbox

will switching from an 04 airbox to an 06 airbox on my xb12r cause any issues with the extra airflow,the newer box has an extra grill..??!!my older 04 model does not have this grill and im worried that the newer box will cause issues??

i wouldnt think so. have you or are you doing an open airbox conversion? if you have or are then the grill is probably more of a bonus.

The grill is mainly for looks. Unless you do a high flow filter and open airbox there is plenty of room to pull air in around the gaps in the airbox.

it'll be just fine. I took my 06 airbox and cut a lot more holes in it. The engine will take in what it needs. The more holes just makes more available. Doesn't have to breathe through a straw!
