Hey Guys,

I finally have the bike I have always wanted. I have a 79 shovelhead as well, but wanted a buell since they first came out. So I bought a 99 cyclone with 14000 miles on it. it has a v&h exhaust on it and a forcewinder intake on it. Other than that it is pretty stock.
So just wondering do they typically run pretty hot?

If so is there anything youd reccomend to cool them down?

Also, I had my first problem already with it today. The guy I bought it from said that it was sitting for about 3 weeks before yesterday when I bought it not sure if I believe him or not and he said it was bad gas. So here is what happened today.

The bike runs great in town no problems at all shifts idles runs smooth. I decided since I havent gone on the highway yet to take it on there, so I got up to 65 w/o a problem then bam it backfired, bogged down and died but started right back up. I then drove again same thing happened two more times but it started right back up. I then got off highway and took back roads and road like a dream back home only when I get into 5th gear and up to about 65-70 it does this?

Any ideas what I should do I would like to take it on a nice cruise but do not want to break down. Please help I dont think its anything major or at least I hope not.

If you replace the ignition switch your problems will go away. next time it quits feel the back of your switch and if its hot you have found the problem.

Really? I feel like it would be something else why would that cause it to cut out on only the highway, only when I hit 65-70 mph and then it dies and bogs, then it starts right back up.

I had a problem with my kill switch. I always use the key to shut the bike down but sometime it wouldn't start. Sometimes it would pop and cut in and out on the highway I never thought to check the kill switch for the problem until my dad said to take it apart and check the contacts. It had come apart in the switch housing ( wouldn't have seen it until I took it apart)I cleaned it put it back together no more poping and starting problems. The switch must have been making contact sometimes from the viberations. Don't know if that has anything to do with your problem but you never know.
