rear wheel and belt problems!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

I had the rear berrings fails, and after getting the wheel off I now am having problems gettng back on!

1-the stupid belt gard will absolutely not come off the large 1/4 looking hex bolt simply will not turn.. and I cannot get a socket-hex on it as the brake lever switch with its bolts facing the wrong way preventing its removal. this make positioning the belt a chore

2- the belt tensioner seems unmoveable, I took both bolts off it and even after tapping it with a rubber mallet sees no movement at all, as a result anytime I try to "pop" the belt on it just slides off when it comes under tension..


help...what do I need to do to get the tensioner off?
What do I need to get to get the damn belt on?

pics of the issue? and the tensioner is in a fixed position but comes off by 2 bolts (not sure the size tho)
 
the two bolts on the tensioner are off and it still wont move, I have no idea whats holding it on..
 
im not sure what it is that your trying to do.. to put the rear tire on you do not need to remove the belt tensioner, belt guards or brake caliber. seating on you butt with your feet under the rear tire push the rear wheel up and over the rear caliber then towards the front of the bike with you right hand grab the belt and pull it toward you and around the pullie then put the axle in spin the tire around twice and tighten every thing up... then your done 3 minutes tops
 
tried that didnt work. the belt will not slip on unfortunately. Tried rotating the wheel clockwise and counter clockwise neither method seems to get the belt to "slide" on the pulley the Buell TSM says to remove the pulley..so I tried the "easy" way noted above first when tht didn't work, I tried the Buell Manual way thus, trying to remove the belt gaurd which appears to be in the way of the belt additionally trying to pull the tensioner so the belt will slip around the wheel without tension.

looks like you might need to call a friend that might be a little more manically incline. or get a fresh set of hands and eyes on it. good luck
 
My guess is the tensioner is just seized a little bit. If you have both bolts off try moving it side to side or tap the back of it gently with a dead blow. There isn't anything else holding it on except probably rust.
 
Got the belt back on, what I had to do was pry the guard out just enough to slide the belt forward so I could disengage the secondary pulley then push the slack backwards so I could position the belt on the outsde of the wheel pulley, then push the belt forward to re-engage the secondary pulley, next I used the normal method to get the belt back on but I had to also use the back of a keep the belt tracking as the pry-ed guard kept trying to invert the belt..after about 50% turn it popped back on. The tensioner still won't come off but as noted above I inspected it better and both studs have rust between them and the tensioner so I will be hitting them with some PB-blaster later this evening to at least free it up so next time this wont be such a fun experience.

Oh an just a note: the whole reason I had to do this was those recalled bearing seals ..well they failed (found out about the campaign AFTER they failed though), I had Earl Smalls in atl replace them and thought everyone should know, the bearing seals are black again, the orange seals have been replaced with black ones now. same -A part number on HD-net still though.
