Just curious of others thoughts on this. When I parked my bike for the winter my right fork seals were leaking a tiny bit. After a couple rides I noticed it had completely blown out (fork oil all over). Before I noticed it my front end washed out on me once and I thought I hit something slick.. probably due to the fork?

Due to the lack of funds right now and some good weather I have been riding her as is. Probably not a great idea but I haven't been pushing it hard in the corners.

Yesterday I got spooked in a corner with some gravel when my front wheel washed out again. I slowed way down and it just didnt feel right. After looking her over I noticed my front tire is seriously cupped. 200miles ago it was fine. I also noticed a nice SHHHHHHHH sound which is more pronounced when turning.

I know the fork is likely the cause of the cupping since my pressure is good but could one blown fork put stress on the wheel bearings enough to take em out?

Would you guys park her till everything was resolved or just do bearings and then the forks when money permits?

I like spending money I dont have on mods.. not repairs. Ha.

If it was me I would try to get it fixed as soon as possible,I had an 84 honda nighthawk that blew out the left fork seals a couple of times while I owned it,blown fork seals can result in more problems later as you just stated,I fixed my seals as soon as I was able to on that bike,so far I have had no issues with my firebolt with fork seals but have just replaced rocker cover gaskets.:)

I want to powder coat my forks while they are apart but I may just have to do bearings, tire and seals so i am road worthy for the summer and black them out next winter. Fork seals are something I don't think I want to tackle myself. Got a local shop that will do them for 100 bucks. Sounds like a fair price.

Sounds like something I would park it until I saved the funds. Front end wash out isn't something to mess around with!
