XB caliper lock opinions?

Just got this in the mail the other day. I really like it the alarm is sensitive enough (without over doing it) and it is loud as heck. It is really beefy and I'm not really sure how someone go about getting around this thing in all honesty. Plus with the alarm if you forget you put it on your disc and go to start and move your bike the 5 pre alarm beeps will tell you its there before you take off and forget its on. For the money I think its a really good deal. If you have any questions let me know!

Nice [up], that's the one I've been looking at, and $20 cheaper than Revzilla! I'd prob consider a getting reminder tether at the same time. How's the install/removal? Some reviews say it's a pain.

I've had no trouble, I just removed the tab to the battery and put it on the disc. The only thing you have to do is to move the lock around so that the LED gets blocked by the disc and arms the alarm. Its no big deal and takes all of the 5 seconds. As far as removal, the company sends you three keys (which is nice) - the locking pin/key barrel is spring loaded so when it is unlocked it will spring open. Overall it takes just a few seconds to put on and take off. The negative reviewers must have half a full load to have struggled with it. [up] I ordered from the company I linked to above and had it in about a week. I'm not disappointed with it at all. Although I will agree with the one reviewer that said the alarming beep is pretty loud, I haven't been bothered by it though to me it sends out a message that my bike is locked down :)

Also looking to purchase one myself. What model do you guys have? They do not have Buell listed in their fitiment guide.

My friend let me borrow his XN14 a while back and it worked great. I think it was a little large for the front rotor but it definitely was not coming off with out a fight.

The only trouble I ran into was if I put the lock on and armed it while the bikes fan was running the alarm would go off.

I have the Xena XX-14. Before I bought it I measured both rotors and they were about 35 to 38mm depending on the angle I had on the tape measure. The smallest they offer fits a 42ish mm disc and that comes with a 6mm steel locking pin. I decided to go with the XX-14 because it has the bigger (14mm) locking pin and fits up to a 44mm disc. I figured I'd rather have the bigger locking pin more than a 2mm difference in fit. Also the XX are said to give hacksaws or power tools a little less to bite on because they have a rounded body.

Timeless might be able to chime in on the XN14 but from the pictures it appears that the alarm speaker is on the outside on the XN series, which might allow someone to muffle it?

That is more or less what led me to the XX series but I don't think either are a bad option at least you will have something and that will deter most attempts on your bike.

Anyone have any recommendations/opinions on caliper locks, with or without alarm?
I say with alarm or don't get one. It'll only be a matter of time with an alarmless one, that you'll forget & take off.

^Well, that's what I'd originally thought even though some reviews said that the alarm was too sensitive (female?) and to add a tether for about $5 is no biggie.

Thanks for all the input and opinions fellas, I believe I'll go with my 1st choice which was the Xena XX-14

When you get it the book said sOmething about placing it at different angles 12 o'clock 6 o'clock etc.. Will increase or decrease the sensitivity. I didn't read into it alot just something to check out
