I put in a bid thinking I would loose on a bike a few weeks ago..I won it..wow,,kinda excited but wish I did not win. did the correct thing and sent a bank check like the seller asked. draind my life savings..my stupid!
waited e mailed and called for 2 weeks with no responce only to let me know he got my check and we can set shipping up this week...nothing for another week.
in the time waiting I serced through shipping companys..anoter nighmare. found one cheap enough with out a month wait!
The seller finly just wrote back..not called and said he will not be around next week for pick up,he wants me to paty to crate the bike, he has no papperwork except the title that he wants to fill out (screw up)or spare parts or info on the bike at all..this sucks. $10k 2 weeks anther 2 weeks if it gets shipped and I dont even want the bike anymore.
This is my 1st time buying anything unseen or online..never ever again.

Hope it works out for you . Stories like yours sucks to read about . I do not use e-bay myself , but next time always use paypal or some insurable payment method .

Dang. I feel for you. as far as shipping. Im in AZ and got a Buell from TX. I used a website called uship.com

You put in the pick up date, zip code and drop off date andzip code. Describe the package or car or whatever and shippers bid on your shipment.

250 bucks from the east side of TX to the southside of AZ cause someone was driving here with 2 empty trucks for a pick up and the guy figured he could make a few bucks bringing my bike on his empty trucks.

The website is doin a TV show now called shipping wars.

Worked great for me and I saved a ton.

Good luck....Peace

Sorry to hear but there's nothing wrong with buying a car or bike off eBay.

Hope you get it all sorted & are happy with the bike when it arrives.

Still want to know what kind of bike. Sorry to hear about this. I have bought 2 cars off eBay, but always used pay pal and only after shipment was confirmed. Hope It gets worked out.

So you bid on something and lost your life savings because you bid on it? Sorry, and no offense, but that is your fault, not the seller's.

I fail to see much of an issue. What paperwork were you expecting other than a title?

Just talk with him and explain you were going to ship the bike with a carrier and do not need to crate it.

Spending a little extra time typing with the seller will help you out. Your typing is a little difficult to understand.

I agree with Lotus and Mac... If you didnt want to or couldnt pay for it then you should have sent the seller a message explaining your situation. Or even not bid at all... I got my xb9sx from eBay with no issues at all. eBay is all about buyer/ seller communication!

Yup. Live and learn. If its vehicles i would only ever do it if its arranged to see it in person. too many other things can go wrong

Just another vote for reselling it. Three possibilities: you can make money on it, you break even, or you may lose a little money on it. Either way, not the end of the world. Reading your post is kinda funny (well, not really) because I had bid on a Ducati S4R (on eBay) prior to finding my Buell XB12s (on Craigslist). As the auction deadline neared, I also became apprehensive about winning. After considering the possible high maintenance, I no longer wanted the Ducati. In the end, I lost the auction to someone else. Although your story's outcome is different, don't freak out too much. Like everyone said, live and learn. In the grand scheme of things, it's not like you're out hundreds of thousands of dollars (i.e. invested in an over-priced home). It's just a motorcycle. The majority of the US is just now getting into riding season. So, if you still don't want the bike after you receive it, you should have no trouble selling it to someone else.

Good luck, mate.

Damn .. Only way I buy something unseen is from copart. Or cheap stuff off ebay that I can't find in town.

Anyway good luck with it

i bought my 1125r sight unseen off ebay w 300 miles on it came to my door via tractor trailer for 7k it was perfect,,,,,

If you wernt prepared to buy the bike, why would you put in a bid thinking someone else would outbid you? Thats just stupid.[confused]

also just drives the price up for someone who does want it.sorry man its pretty funny but you got what you deserved.i have this done to me at auto auctions you can tell the dick dosnt want it he just want to make other people pay more.

I made a low offer for a 07 ducati 1098s and I was surprised he took it.
the problem is the seller was a dumb ass and gave me and the shipper a problem every way/
I had the money and sent out a check the same day..he took a week to get back..it goes on and on but now we at..the bikes being picked up this week by dvt..excelent service and a great help..cheapest price too.
the seller asked for my license, a bill of sale notorised..from me!??? and finley told me today he has a title but from the last owner with his name signed on it..so its no good to me.
it was written that it comes with a clear title in hand..he still does not understand the problem.
called e bay motors and im insured if no tittle comes so well see.
maby I will wait to sell my buell..I just got back from a ride and wondered why Im going through all this when I have a great bike with no problems.
