(Re:) Build

Its real funny that they say RX parts wont fit the 1125, Im halfway done with and RX radiator conversion on my 1125 LOL. Every part has fit so far and there are a couple I will need to modify to make work. Im working on a write up on what i have done so far and ill post it here, badweb and the EBR forum sometime this week.

Hahaha yea right? But then again they have to say that. Technically speaking that's akin to calling up Honda and asking if Kawasaki parts will fit. Buell and EBR are legally unable to affiliate.

Ahhhh. You're the guy who was doing that. I thought I recognized your user from the Badweb. I was actually planning in doing that to mine as well. No small project as you know. I decided to wait until I got my hands on a bore kit to mess with the cooling system. Looking downward to your write-up!

Got some things moved around in the makeshift garage. About to move again for the 2nd time in a month. The next destination will be long term. Starting a new job at a good gig in toledo come the 5th.

And yes if you were wondering that is an old box truck lol

Got an EBR oem throttle in from another user. Pulled it apart and grabbed the calipers. Identical thnrottle tube to the 1125 tube. Literally the same thing. The housing is not. Grabbed an r6 throttle tube I had laying around and popped it in the EBR housing. Fits right up with zero modifications. Hooked up the cables, fit like they should, and viola. Works like a dream.

This was done to remedy my clearance issues with the zx14 brake MC and the OEM 1125 throttle cables. Everything works in harmony now.

A few things done today. Moved rear brake resevoir. Some drilling and tapping for final seat pan mounts and airbox fitment. Surprisingly, by far the most aggravating thing about this build so far, solid mounting the goddam master cylinders. The front end of the bike is VERY busy. I have bug hands and at the time were covered in dot 4 making it very aggravating to manipulate the parts around to get accurate measurements. After about 2 hours of loud, yet creative, explicit language, they were mounted.
Also made a quick tail tidy for the EBR tail. Mounting the Radiantz strip will be a challenge with all of the sharp angles.

Tail light wired up. Simple stuff here, but I dislike hard wiring electronics. I utilize the quick connects on the oem buell harness with a few cheap plugs from the auto parts store.

Picked up one of those butane soldering irons. Sweet jesus that thing is awesome. Makes a hooge difference.

Did you use satin black in a spray bomb? Satin spray bombs are perfect before automotive clear.......the satins are almost an identical makeup of what the basecoat in the basecoat clearcoat equation is....perfect for automotive clear to bite to. Blast some clear and let's see it.......

Actually I used Duplicolor acrylic enamel. Duplicolor filler primer on top of an auto etching primer. Lots of wetsanding between coats. 1x etch, 2x filler, 4x black.

Can someone please tell me the length between each bolts on the side of the rear subframe ?
I'm looking to install the 1190 subframe on a XB but just trying to figure out how much it needs adaptation because of different bolts patern...

Thanks very much

Holy hell. Almost 5 years. I have been out of here for a long time now.

A few updates, I got some stuff figured out.

I have moved 5 times.

I haven't had much time to do much of anything with this lady. But since the last post, see below.

It works. It works great. We have been to the track a few times.
We are now just west of Chicago IL.
We are planning on spending lots of time on the midwest tracks out here.
Planning on a reunion trip to the mountains come spring.

Here are some photos.
