It's shaping up to look like the missing link between the 1125 and RS. That's what I'm going for anyways.

Thanks for the link. I missed that thread somehow?? I ended up ourchasing a new 09 cluster just to air on the safe side. Seeing as HD support is dwindling and they are scheduled to desist support in 2016, I figured I may as well jump on the train while I can.

Got the K bracket welded back together. I was surprised how well it welded with bring cast aluminum and all. Got the pods all reassembled once my new cluster arrives I should be able to fire it up!

Little update, decided to use a busted firebolt fairing that was donated to me from a friend of mine.

Cut off and evened out the broken arms, these will be extended and directed as needed to fit my upper fairing using sheet metal. My upper fairing does not fit the oem mounting points anyways, it is too narrow.


The stay had a broken mounting tab, to fix I found a thich washer with a similar ID as the original mount, I cut this washer to match the missing piece of the stay. Then found another washer to fit over the recessed mount tab that was remaining and the washer I just split. I epoxied it all in together nice and solid.


Got my upper fairing formed, just some evening out to do and paint here.

hey goose, what size pin is in your front lift? My new stands came in and it came with 5 different pins for the triple tree lift.

Hmmm. Not sure. I made a curved one to loop up into the lower triple.

You got the vortex ones right? You'll have to contact their customer service and see which one is the correct one for the bike.

Took it down the road earlier. Progress is going well. I've got some new tires on the way and about to start painting my fairings. Re-shaped my undertail, I will be using a radiantz tail light now. Here is a good walkthrough on how to set the strip up. Pretty neat. I'm going to be stingy with the pictures now as to not spoil the surprise for anybody!

Ok so a little update, been moving among a few other stressful situations at home so things have been delayed. BUT. I managed to procure some very interesting parts and have decided to take this in a slightly different direction. Here in the mext week I will have an entirely new workspace and should expeditie project finalization. This is getting very exciting. The project will not be 100% before the end of the season but it will be presentable and functional by Oct 10th. Finishing touches and a few in depth things will wait until the snow falls. I just want to ride the damn thing now. Lol

Finally got time to work on it a bit today.

Showa BPF forks fitted and installed. Forks are a direct swap with 1125 showa 54mm cartridge forks, xb wheel is not compatible with the bpf's without modification. New bearings arrived today for the xb wheel to fit on the RX axle. I'll have to make some spacers as well.

What bearings did you use with 47mm OD and 30mm ID? For future reference. 1190 wheels use the same bearings as the 2010 Buell 3 bearing wheel.
