What does everyone do for a living?

Architect, but not wanting to be left out, was conscripted to the SA Army Artillery Parachute Battalion 32 years back.

    New look (frame spacers)

Pulleys are dicey. Even a small amount of coating on the teeth substantially affects the belt length which has minimum tolerance with the standard fixed tensioner. I don't know what "aurora" plating is - sounds like a trade name. I had my header pipes ceramic coated in black - works a charm.

    New look (frame spacers)

Hey XB9BANE. I think you and I both need to make out front forks black. I'm waiting for seals then plan to service mine so I am thinking of having the bits anodised or epoxy coated while I am about it.

    New look (frame spacers)

Yes, the seat is custom. I carved up a bit of extra foam for the lump at the back and gave it to my upholsterer with instructions on the stitching. I had it done in car tonneau cover fabric with silver-grey stitching. I think it worked out well but my wrinkly ass now requires some yoga to lift...

    Cape Town Toy Run

It was too crowded and too slow. Sore clutch hand by the time we got there. Big twin, it's a CYCLOPS off eBay. When I got the bike the original setup had been changed for something nasty so it was my best option. It is Xenon which is quite nice.

    Cape Town Toy Run

Couple of hundred thousand bikes and I didn't see one other Buell. Were you there Wally - I must have missed you.

    Cape Town Toy Run

Suppose you would leave from Grand West - I have to join mates on other bikes at Ottery. If you could come to Ottery it would be great because the walk-around at the start is the best time to see the bikes.

    Cape Town Toy Run

Let's see some Buells at the Toy Run. Sunday 24th Nov. Ottery to Maynardville. I will be there with my XB12S.

Thanks Wally. Did you have your pipe ceramic coated at Powerkote? I am thinking of removing mine in the next week and taking it to SCORCH to fabricate and end cap like the pic. I need a bit of a dB killer as well - sounds a little too rude.

Hey Wally. I'm done. Transfer, roadworthy, license all done. Let me know if you feel like heading for a Hout Bay, Clifton ride.

    wheel bearings????

I just took my old bearings to a local bearing supplier and paid next to nothing for new ones. Make sure that they are the sealed type. Yes, unlikely that the tubes will need replacing. It would be a good idea to check your swing arm bearings if you are doing the wheels.

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Tried to take it for a roadworthy test today to get the transfer finalised. Didn't even make it into the test area. The testing man came rushing out to tell me to quieten the pipe down and come back. Spent the evening stuffing aluminium scouring pads down the pipe. Went next door to talk to CBF...

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Finally got it going. Running like a dream. Now glad that the local tuning man refused to touch the bike because I had worked on it. It forced me to keep going myself and eventually work out the software issues. (with the help of people on this forum). Only sorry at this point that my subframe...

Thanks rchuff. One very careful ride around a few blocks in the wet. Made it all DIRTY. Now just hoping for the sun to come out tomorrow.

SUCCESS! PURRING LIKE A TIGER. Now to put the small bits back on and I can actually ride it for the first time. Got be careful with new front tire, front pads, rear pads and rear disc, not to mention the hail. So happy.

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Thanks rchuff. I should be so lucky as to simply start bike. After about four months of owning it, I have not yet managed to coax much life out of it. The battery is on charge right now so I am leaving it for the day but will certainly re-check all items as you advise. Many thanks, John.
